Well hello there... this is gonna be a probably semi-long series but it's alright. I'm living in history and things like this don't come around very often so here I go.
Here is some background of what I know- The Corona Virus first started in a port in mainland China. According to many news, the virus was originally from a bat (yes, the flying night creature in caves) and someone in China ate it and that was how it was transmitted. There was also some news that when the person realized got sick (Corona Virus has flu, fever, cold type symptoms ) they went to the doctors. It was said that the doctor realized that this was a new virus and wanted to inform, the public but then the government officials wanted to keep it silent since it could cause a panic. The news wasn't made public until 81 people caught the virus (that was the first time I saw it on the news). Unfortunately, the doctor that tried to inform the pubic had died. So far this is still only located in China.

When people first heard the news, it didn't alarm many people since the situation felt like miles away. I believe this started sometime in December of 2019** (I need to verify that). During this time, people saw the effects only on the news and eventually lead to some discrimination towards the Asian population. The discrimination only scratched the surface of the events that will follow. The spread of this unknown virus started climbing. The 81 people soon became 1,000 people and then 40,000. As soon as death began to follow, that was when things became worse. At this time it is January. Students at school sill had their events running, sports, rally, and prom and graduations were still on people's minds.
Friday, March 13, 2020, at 12:35 the school was the day the district announced that we will not be going to school for the next 3 weeks + 1-week spring break. Because the district issued this mandatory break, schools will not have to make it up over the summer but this results in cancellation or postponement of spring sport. (sad feeling) In hopes of things getting better, I just don't see it right now. Over the weekend, there was a great increase in food hoarding. Because school is out parents need to feed their children.
Honestly right after they announced a break from school, the situation didn't really concern me yet because we were still able to go out freely so students began making plans with their friends for activities over the one month off. Little did we know that things would change within the next couple of days. there was a public announcement to limit the number of gathering by 100 and soon changed to 10 and then to only if absolutely necessary. Oh, yea- there is also called this thing called social distancing where you basically space yourself out from others. Okay so on Monday, people were sent home to work from homes like everybody and all the businesses excluding the supermarkets are all shut down and closed. Tuesday, they called for in house lockdown and going out only for a grocery run.
